All,
Some of the boat shows are great and some aren't so good.
Here in St. Pete just got back from our show last weekend and it was GREAT. Easy to get and around, reasonable, and just nice.
In shopping for boats, and junk, the vendors were fine and I learned a lot. Some of the sales people were VERY knowledgeable and helpful even though I wan't ready to spend 600K on their boat.
The Regal guy was great, real experienced and was lucky to spend an hour with him as the show was winding down, getting cold and everyone bailed. He was demoing their 42 ft cruiser and it was nice, but a bit above my pay grade. We discussed other boats, techniques and things to think about.
The Beneteau guys were also very good with their swift trawlers, as were a few guys selling used boats... closer to my level.
Didn't buy many boats, but got a ton of leads and ideas. Even the beer was reasonable for a show but didn't have any as I wasn't the designated drunk.....
Love those shows.
