Hello. Jose. If I still had my GB42 and lived where you do, I would be doing the same things you have done and will soon be doing! We all look forward to hearing of your adventures. Can you tell us wheat engines and generator you have aboard.
Yeah, Bill, you gotta watch pressing that red button!
The battery select switch simply allows me a digital method of checking the two banks' voltages.
Start and thruster banks are one and the same, my two Odyssey 34 PC1500 start bank AGM batteries joined in parallel. My house bank of two...
It is probably set up like my 30 Pilot II was when I bought it nine years ago with level sensors in both tanks but only one connected to the fuel gauge. You need to find the sensor on the top of each tank to see which one has a wire connected. I ended up running a wire to the helm from the...
You know the old joke, "Hey doc, it hurts when I do this." And the doc says, "Well, don't do that." I would not run the engine in the RPM range where you are seeing the symptoms.
As mentioned above a raw water system flush would not hurt anything and is easily accomplished once you are set up. I keep a five gallon bucket in my tool shed filled with the required bits of hose with adapters, a small Rule bilge pump and a power supply for the pump; although you could power...
It's there, Inland Rule 23 (c)
—INLAND—Lights and ShapesRULE 23—CONTINUED(c) A power-driven vessel of less than 12 meters in length may, in lieu ofthe lights prescribed in paragraph (a) of this Rule, exhibit an all-round whitelight and sidelights.
As I said, INLAND rules, Rule 23 (c). The 7 knot rule is International.
And another thought. The all around white light mounted on an outboard, as long as it is not obscured by people is OK, but a tricolor on a swiveling platform seems a bit absurd.
Assuming your 9.5-foot long dink is powered AND that we are talking about US Inland rules, you may use a 2-mile visible all around white light or a pair of 1-mile visible side lights and a 2-mile visible stern light. So be sure the lights have a USCG certification stamp somewhere for the...
I have a different hull design, but my side exhaust is a bit in the water. Other than getting rid of the Brait part of my combination anchor rode the only forward weight added is 80 more feet of 1/4" chain to the 100 feet the boat came with.
I had it made by a local upholsterer whose shop was near the house. He was willing to do the odd canvas job over the years on both my boats. I helped him measure for it, and it was really simple. I bet you have the in-house talent to handle it.
Here are some more photos of the job. You can see where I gained a lot of visibilty as I hold up the old closure over the new window in the first photo.
