I had my 44ft Tollycraft surveyed in Virginia Beach last April by Michael Grame

If you want to know every little detail of the condition of the boat, he is the guy. My report was 30 pages long and included photos and recommendations. He divides all his findings in three categories,First: USCG CFR and state laws ie. legal reruirements Second:
ABYC and or NFPA standards and other safety issues. Third:Maintenance and upgrade findings and recommendations. This approach simplifies the negotiation process with the seller, at least for me. Hope this helps.
