We've been pricing systems for install on a smaller trawler. Even the simple hydraulic, pneumatic, or electric systems are priced from $60 to $80k+! And that is if you have the space. Would be curious to learn of those who installed rolling chocks and their thoughts pre and post.

For us, it's finding the boat! WE'RE READY!!!! But yep- you never know. I'm a nurse and see these premature endings way more than anyone would want. My neighbor just got back from a sibling-in-law wake- 39! :( Glad it was a false alarm. Get out on the water now!

We're on the hunt also. What a challenge. A friend has a Selene 48 which is actually 53 LOA. He loves it, cross ocean capable, ample space, 2 heads, and second SR is more bunk like. He has a wing engine on it and dislikes it as the maintenance is a bigger chore than the use or need of it...

Looking for underway stabilization (although who would turn it down at anchor). Does the power draw require generator at anchor or are smaller versions (we're looking at FD trawlers in the lower 40 feet range) able to run on battery for some periods?

Wording may have been incorrect. We did go to survey after signing a contract. Survey proved it quite the project boat and our expensive lesson to have learned. So we continue the search.
