When Does it Become Cost Prohibited?

We cruise for a week on what's in our 20 gal tank when we launch, one of the main reasons we chose a 40 yr old boat when we converted from sail 10 yrs ago.

Back to a trawler - well sort of.

However, what will you be using for a barding ladder for that swim platform?

Back to a trawler - well sort of.

I believe I might be exceedingly happy with that boat. Congrats.

    Training

One good bet are classes through U S Sail & Power Squadron, having recently changed the name to America's Boating Club. There is a couple who joined our Chapter a few years ago in preparation for doing the Loop. They completed a string of courses culminating with Advanced Piloting and did...

Is double anchor roller the answer

I know exactly what the OP is about My wife handles our Claw by hand, or with a hand crank winch on the foredeck, I'd be happy to give her some relief, but she'd have to learn "how to drive" first. The double rocking roller proposal looks as if it might work. I'll try it using plain steel...

release the nautical masses from nautical terms

The Builder of two of my boats, Peter Duff (prior to the avatar we had sailed a Dovekie and a Shearwater) said and wrote more than once that "nautical terms are a very precise and concise language developed over a period of several thousand years and as such is worth preserving".

    $200m Lawsuit against boat maker

As Weston Farmer once write about the almost plumb bow on his Sundance, "the plumb bow gives her legs to stand on in a seaway".

    $200m Lawsuit against boat maker

Tell'ya what, though; if I were in the market for a bow rider, it wouldn't be that boat. With the combination of reverse shear at the bow, and carrying the hole that far forward, along with today's typical lack of buoyancy at the bow it's surprising there haven't been more reports of this sort...

    Slowing down

you may be looking exclusively at newer boats, but there are reasons the market for Albin-25's built over 40 years ago is still strong. I tow the one appearing in the avatar at left with a 1993 Dodge diesel anywhere in N America.

    Finding a rental trailer

Any way you can rent a flat equip trailer and pad the hull/trailer interface using tires, salvaged carpet, wood padded wedges, and lashing straps? Makinf a wood cradle would work, too.

Do it my way, or no way at all attitudes...

One of my lifelong bywords has been "there is more than one way to skin a cat". I'll take up new ideas, sometimes. NOBODY need feel compelled to take up mine.

    Destination Anticipation

Anywhere in Canadian waters It's why our boat is named the DuNORD. We trailer the boat, and the weather usually starts cooling nicely on the tow north. We like the cooler evenings (jacket weather) as well as the people we encounter. Home port is N Illinois.

Why is the trawler tilting ???

As this all sounds new to you. I would request the owner to show you the boat in proper trim. There might be a more serious problem causing the list.
