It`s unsettling and scary, we can recycle etc. all we want but as long as countries like India, China, Indonesia etc carry on like they are it`s like trying to stop the tide from coming in.

Here I am, half a world away watching you making your way up north in real time. I date from way before GPS etc. so I find it truly remarkable. :)

Maybe if you are Brazilian with very good connections but I don't think it would work for us.

Your suggestion makes a lot of sense but it will still be a long, boring and difficult trip with very little to see or do along the way. But why bring a boat to Rio in the first place? Import duties are very high so unless it is a Brazilian boat the boat can only stay in Brazil for a limited time.

I have sailed in the north of Brazil and these flat fishing boats they use there are impossible to see at night. And there are lots of them and they don't stay close to shore either, an accident waiting to happen.
