    Counting cruise ships....

It`s unsettling and scary, we can recycle etc. all we want but as long as countries like India, China, Indonesia etc carry on like they are it`s like trying to stop the tide from coming in.

The Best Publicity Money Can't Buy

Not going to post the link because it will probably get me banned. Google Phil Bloom in tv program Hoepla. Dutch TV in 1967, get over it people.

    Humor

A Scottish Soldier, in full dress uniform, marches into a pharmacy. Very carefully he opens his sporran and pulls out a neatly folded cotton bandana, unfolds it to reveal a smaller silk square handkerchief, which he also unfolds - to reveal a condom. The condom has a number of patches on it...

Find My Boat - $5,000 REWARD!!!

Oh ffs, all of us on here are intelligent well succeeded people in life. Let's just agree this is not not the way we would look for and go about buying our first boat. Maybe, just maybe this thread will then find it's rightful end.

Find My Boat - $5,000 REWARD!!!

This thread is running on at least 3 forums that I know of and all the boats suggested, and there were some very attractive ones among them, have been rejected. Some even fitted the bill perfectly. Feed the troll at your convenience.

Heading North on the ICW to NY

Here I am, half a world away watching you making your way up north in real time. I date from way before GPS etc. so I find it truly remarkable. :)

    Florida to Brazil (Rio)

Maybe if you are Brazilian with very good connections but I don't think it would work for us.

    Florida to Brazil (Rio)

Your suggestion makes a lot of sense but it will still be a long, boring and difficult trip with very little to see or do along the way. But why bring a boat to Rio in the first place? Import duties are very high so unless it is a Brazilian boat the boat can only stay in Brazil for a limited time.

    Florida to Brazil (Rio)

I have sailed in the north of Brazil and these flat fishing boats they use there are impossible to see at night. And there are lots of them and they don't stay close to shore either, an accident waiting to happen.

    Running shoe, making large wake

I like your analogy of the thoroughbred horse. :) You could use a Dashew as a camera boat to film deadliest catch, a real work horse. I doubt the Hinckley type boats would make it out of Dutch Harbour, great looks but fragile.

Hendo's Randall 35 Cray Boat complete rebuild, Perth, Western Australia

Did the police ever catch the scum that attacked your neighbor?

    Running shoe, making large wake

I agree Dashew's boats are not the prettiest things afloat but I would feel totally safe in one. Immensely strong and self righting in case you ever get knocked over, besides looks don't really matter if you are inside looking out. :)

    Running shoe, making large wake

That Hinckley looks fab. but for that kind of money I would go for a Dashew design.

    Powercat trawlers vs traditional Trawlers

    Surfacing

Thank you everyone. The thread that made me register was "Underway Today" because I really enjoyed following that and wanted to make a comment. We are currently selling our house here to move back to Europe and start looking for the perfect trawler. I want to do trip described before taking the...

    Surfacing

After lurking in the depths of this forum for years I have decided to register and become a member. I had no choice because there have been some posts lately that I really wanted to comment on. Still boatless but I feel a Krogen coming on. Another reason to register is the friendly atmosphere of...
