Just signing a contract today on a 65' trawler with a 9.5' draft. We are looking for somewhere south of the snowbelt to put her during the first week of April. I had one marina in Georgia lined up but was told today no, but you are on a waiting list! Thing is, for various reasons we have to remove the boat from her present berth on Chesapeake Bay by the end of March.
So, some serious searching going on, but if anyone has any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated!

Many Thanks

Good Luck!!!

The current market is against you. Many places have wait lists.

You size is going to be a limiting factor. Not all marina's can take a 65 Long/9.5 deep vessel. Even those that do typically have a limited number of slips.

This time of year is tough. Most people have already signed their 2022 contracts.

Best of Luck.

If it's just the month of April, then the further you go north, the less boats are in the water in April. Just a thought. We've been in the water in April in Rhode Island. You need a heater, but there's no snow or ice at that time of year.

there is a pretty big marina in Bridgeton, NC, but i can't recall the name of it. floating docks, storm protected, etc..they could maybe take a boat that large, but not positive.

Your draft is the big hurdle , get a copy of a waterway guide and keep looking for the depth you need. Its going to be expensive. Most customers will be about 100 ft plus!

Do you have sufficient ground tackle to anchor off a marina?

Check with commercial repair folks for work boats , who might have the depth.

Good hunting!

One question , did figure the draft from the boats document or from an actual measurement ?

The DEPTH on the doc. is for internal volume not how much water the boat needs to float.
