We've owned a Monk 42 for seven years and completed America's Great Loop with ours. We love everything about her except the lack of an outdoor visiting area. We love the teak interior and the teak and holly floors. We normally wouldn't have a down galley, but the one on the Monk has so much light we don't mind at all. We have a friend with a Monk 42 that has a single engine, which makes for a very nice, roomy engine room. But the twin engines on our Monk 42 make maneuvering easy. The only boats I would rather own all cost at least 2-3 times more than we paid for our Monk. I would be happy to answer any specific questions you might have.
