Wanted: Need Mast for a 34 Taiwaneese.

Hi, my mast was rotten, so i needed to take it down. Anyone know of a used One, or where i can Get a new?

There should be a master carpenter that works on boats in most major cities. Not sure where you are located, but I would find a carpenter to re-work your mast or create an identical mast if nothing is salvageable. It looks as though you have a two piece mast, so you should be able to save a portion of it. If you're in the NW, I can point you into the right direction.

If you want a custom aluminum mast, Seaview Global will take your own sketched design and create a CAD drawing for you to approve before getting started. It may be a better option than going with a brand new wood mast.

See if you can find one from a junked sail boat. You could replace the wood with Al.

Run an ad on Craigslist for a sailboat mast wanted. In Florida you should have your choice of masts in a week or less. A broken one would be fine if it is broken in the right spot.

I ran an ad for one in an unlikely inland area of California recently and had an exact match for a specific intact mast and rigging within 2 weeks. Cost me $100.

If you check around you will find that many marinas with working yards will have abandoned masts that they will love to get rid of. Sometimes you can get them free for removing them from the yard. You will need to cut it down to length and fashion a plate to attach it, but any mobile welder can do that for you. Good luck. Chuck
