I have twin Yanmar 6LY3-EPTs on my mainship. After fuel filter changes trying to prime the engines with the engine mounted manual plunger pumps is labor intensive and many starts attempts result.
I'm considering installing a header manifold on the discharge of the fuel polisher so in addition to returning to the tank I can supply the F.O. to the inlet of each engine. With the appropriate isolation valves this seems like it should work. Any thoughts? has anyone attempted something similar?
