Have you guys heard about EPIRBs with Return Link Service?
It seems that now it is possible for rescuers to send a signal back telling you that they are responding to your distress signal.
I don’t think this is a game changer, but I think it would be nice to know that someone had heard my distress signal. Of course having a satellite phone and talking to someone would be even more comforting, but still it would be nice.
This story mostly talks about how hard it is to sell safety equipment but it does have a good description of Return Link Service.
