Okay, purist: How do you feel about juniper berries? A member of my neighborhood drinking club (UDMMG = Upper Ditch Men's Martini Group) recently brought this concept to our monthly convocation.


No one is quite sure how this is supposed to work, but research is proceeding at an expedited pace. So far my favorite is to crush 4 or 5 (with a big knife, like garlic). I generally drink relatively cheap gin, and this seems to smooth the edges, ex, Beefeater tastes like Plymouth. Obviously very subjective, and experimental controls loosen as the evening progresses:blush:
