Rather new with this so be gentle. I have a xantrex truecharge 40a charger. It has two telephone ports, one for a remote and one for a battery sensor. I have a remote that has two ports also. It says one to the charger the other for the remote. I guess what’s got me confused is does the temp sensor go to the remote or directly to the charger ?

On my sterling it is going to the charger as it used to correct charging if battery heats up.

The remote is a remote control panel that is probably an option. The sensor goes to the battery so the charger can tell what temperature the battery is so the batteries don’t overheat during charging. If the temperature gets too high the charger will back off the charge current. Usually to the negative post of the battery, but check to make sure which post yours go to.
