Anyone know how to remove the mortised locks from my doors without the keys???

I have spend hours after removing all cover plates and screws trying to figure out how to get the key cylinder to come out, which I believe releases everything else.

I do not want to cut up the door.

I was hoping someone out there knows what to do or knows someone who knows what to do???

If it really needs the lock cylinder released and you don't have the key, perhaps a locksmith can help?

That's what I was thinking. $75-90 for a call last time.

Yes. If you have a job to do and don't know how to do it, call a pro. That's what they do. And if you just want to remove it because you don't have the key, the locksmith can probably make new keys.

Well--- it depends on your mortice lock. Many release the cylinder by undoing a set screw under the coverplate on the edge of the door. Tiny set screw with a very small flathead or Allen head. (Very tiny set screw.)
