During my downtime I am processing the photos from my one month trip to Ireland and England last year. Came across this one.

This is the sign at the lock in Stratford-Upon-Avon, right by the Royal Shakespeare Company Theatre.

Only 185 locks and three and a half days to London.

I bet that would be a great trip! Wonder if you can rent the canal boats one way?

The English canals are great fun. The locks are 7ft wide and the canal boats are 6ft10.
They slide right in. There are also several flights of locks that number 10+ in the flight - some have a small canal section between locks, but some are lock-direct-into-lock.

4mph is the top speed (the canals can be quite shallow).

You can find some rental companies that offer one-way, but its more common to do a "ring" over a week or two and that's basically a one-way that ends up back where you started.

Lots of lovely riverside pubs to stop off and try, and a wide variety of industrial canal and countryside canal.
