I've found two options to place a Scotty base on the tubes of my Achilles RIB: 1) a single glue on pad, or 2) a Weaver Ultra Mount which is an aluminum base that is glued to the tubes with three pads. I'm looking for any experiences with either of those, as well as any other alternatives, options or suggestions.
TIA

I wouldn't imagine any glue holding up under that kind of strain for very long. I mounted mine on a solid piece of steel. Never tried putting one on a RIB

Hard to imagine at minimum a 10# downrigger ball hanging off a RIB tube, let alone a 12, 15 or 20# ball. Would seem that mounting to the RIB hull and bringing the mount up and over the top of the tube would make it more viable. I run Scotty 1106´s and even mounted on my gunnels put a lot of stress with the balls hanging down.
