Is it possible to calibrate an analog Amp Meter. 20210329_092126.jpeg

Turn that little screw below the face of the meter to zero the meter.

It is that simple, but all it does is set the zero correctly. But from the looks of it, it is way off, so that will be a big help.

Adding..
Make sure the current is actually zero by opening the circuit and
The bits behind that screwhead are so delicate that you have to watch carefully that you are not going the wrong way. It’s possible someone has already done that by the looks of it.

Getting it zeroed is part of calibration.

Do you have a good clamp on ammeter?

If so, clamp over one side of that meter or load, add some load to about half of full scale.
If the analog meter reads way different, adjust the screw to match the clamp on value.

Having it be accurate under load is more useful than a good zero, IMHO.

Plastic meter faces are also known to hold a static charge, causing needle deflection. A little liquid soap n water on a rag will remove the static.

It's also possible that there is a electrical problem somewhere and the meter is actually indicating a current flow in the opposite of the normal direction.

Good point. However my reverse polarity lights are off and when there is a good draw the needle deflects up showing amperage.
