Prairie works 36 in Pinellas Florida
Looking to help the trawler community. Providing advice in all aspects of boat systems.
I purchased a prairie works 36 trawler January 2020 for $7500 and have been restoring and learning the vessel as I go. I previously owned multiple sailboats and lived aboard a non operable Chris craft Catalina 35 for a year. Would love to advise people about boating in north Pinellas county. |
Welcome!
At $7,500 for a Prairie 36 I imagine it needed some work. Would love to see pics of your progress bringing it back to life. What hull number have you got? Where did you buy it? I make it a bit of a hobby to keep an eye on Prairies for sale, and I may have saved the ad from 2020. By the way, the name of the company was Prairie BOAT Works, not Prairie Works. |
Welcome, and best of luck with your project. Photos are always welcome.

The plaque on the boat says p36/35. I would assume hull 35. She is from 1981. I will be posting pictures very soon.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XLBfRcpk_Z4&t=6s This is a video of right after I purchased the boat and removed an entire e150 van of trash from the vessel. I picked the boat up end of December 2019 from port Richey Florida. Some less than respectable folks were using the boat to pass out in on weekends after a day of drinking at the bar next to the slip. They failed to pay slip rent for a few years so the owner sold the boat to make up for the loss. |
