Thanks for the heads up!
I’m told one should take the toll roads as they are faster and smoother roads.
Cheers
The brand new toll road is 97% complete and a new bypass around Hermosillo will make the trip from Nogales - Mariposa Border about 4 hrs. by 2020. Smooth 12" thick concrete like the Autobahn. Very little cost on tolls and lately about 3 out of 4 trips the last year, free toll after the first one for some political reasons.
We live in San Carlos and have for about a decade and travel that road frequently. Currently 12.75 hrs. from Vegas to San Carlos, but likely .75 to an hour less in another year. That vs. 7.5 hrs to "Rocky Point". Of course I believe the extra 4 or 5 hrs are well worth it.
Look us up when you get here. We have been live aboards and cruisers but sold our GB42 Classic some years ago. Now we have a hotel & restaurant down here in Old Mexico. Travel well.
