You may notice today that the off topic forum (this one) has a new title and description:
This change more accurately reflects the intended vibe of this area and long standing forum rules, specifically addressing a common issue in this area of the board - political and weaponry topics. These topics cause regular kerfuffles as members have widely ranging views. Invariably these topics end up closed or worse.
We do have an area for this sort of content although you have to work to find it and we hope to keep it contained therein, as we find it's fairly toxic to the community.
Trawler forum is primarily a marine related board and we would like to keep it friendly and collegial. The few topics referenced above are a distraction from the topic at hand and increase rancor and drama. They drive away members who come here to discuss trawlers.
Topics that run afoul of this standard will be closed or moved to a more appropriate area and we encourage you to use the report post button if you see trouble on a discussion. Thanks for understanding and for making the board the go to place for trawler related discussion.
Harbor Chat: Friendly, professional, informal exchange of "NON-boating" topics. Political comments, weaponry and religious discussions are off-limits in this forum.
