In-hull transducer on Camano Trolll

Does anyone have experience with in-hull transducers on a Camano troll? If so, any thoughts as to the best location? There is a space between the batteries and the muffler wet exhaust box that seems like a good spot...

My in-hull transducer to starboard of the raw water intake for A/C, and, of course, higher up on the slant of the hull. The mounting has leaded some mineral oil twice, but the unit works fine after repairing the leak. A benefit of this location is short cable, no meaningful additional heat from Exhaust, less vibration, and a smooth flow of water under that point on the hull. Having said that, it's just a simple two frequency transducer, not anything more elaborate. As usual, the manufacturer or an electronics specialist is a good source for more information.

In 2005 we went to the Camano factory to see our new Camano being built. I asked that question and they told me they had just been experimenting with the location. They suggested I put it in the lazerette on the starboard side where the hull is not reinforced. It worked fine for the 9 years we had the boat.

I can't address that model but I've put shoot throughs in several boats. I take a zip lock bag of water, press it against the hull and press the 'ducer into that. Poke around till you find a spot that works.

Hello, I did not have good luck with an in-hull transducer on my Camano and opted for a thru-hull. Has worked fine for many years.

My 2007 Camano 31 had an in-hull located in the lazarette on the starboard side, where the hull is not reinforced, at the time I acquired her four years ago. Still working great.
