    Non-skid

Been getting in and out of dinghy’s for thirty years. Always had fiberglass floors. This one has v shaped bottom. Seems when there’s some moisture on the floor it gets slippery. Thanks for all the ideas will figure out which one will work best.

    Non-skid

Just picked up a new to me dinghy with an aluminum floor. Put it in the water and stepped in to it. Hit the floor and down I went, luckily in the boat and not the water. Does anyone have any ideas on what I could use on the floor so I don’t end up in the water.

    Rebuild

Due to some family medical issues I’ve been unable to get to the boat for awhile. Had a real problem finding a mechanic who would even come out to look at it. Finally found someone to come out, Found that the fresh water pump was shot, some hoses needed to be replaced . Did a pressure test and...

I’ve been using straight 30W Rotella oil in my Lehman 135. Had some engine work done on the boat and my mechanic told me i should be using a heavier oil. Not sue what to go with.

    Rebuild

As to why I’m thinking rebuild, over the winter the starter shorted out and the engine started up. Not sure how long it ran but the problem was that the thru hull was closed so the engine overheated. Talked to Brian who told me to do a pressure test which I did and it’s not holding pressure...

    Rebuild

Can an engine be rebuilt without being taken out ? We have an engine that needs to be rebuilt but have no yards around us to do the work. Was given a name of a diesel mechanic who they they say can do the job but was wondering if it could be done at our marina.

    "New" navigation app.

Have used it multiple times cruising the Chesapeake. Seems reliable, like that it gives me a ETA and fuel used to get from point A to B. So far so good.

    Mechanic

Does anyone know of a diesel mechanic around the Baltimore area that will come out to my boat. Needs to be someone who really knows their way around a Lehman engine. Might be talking about a blown head gasket not sure.

    Engine nightmare

Got a call the other day from our marina, they wanted to know if we were on the boat. I told them no and asked why. Seems our boat engine was running. What ? The boat was all locked up and winterized for the winter. Since we live three hours away I had to figure out a way for them to get on...

    Breaker tripping

Update ! Talked to the installer today and he knew exactly what the problem was. Seems Dometic has a de-ice mode, when the A/C runs for long periods it will switch to this mode which has a high amp draw. The de-ice mode is only needed on bigger boats than mine with long runs of duct work so he...
