We installed gen 3 in Dec 2023. We were in Fl at the time. Here is our first experience with StarLink: Installed under the brow of our flybridge laying flat. (starlink says it is partially obstructed, but works fine most of the time) during startup and alignment, it knows it is not tilted...

Just installed ours. No issues. Handset display works well. No actual cruising experience yet. You may also consider: An external speaker A hailer. Connection to your NMEA2000 network FYI: tethered handset is wireless as well. Only gets it's power from the cord.

Second "Capt Dean". Normally get results fast.

One thought. One engine has bad alternator, you will never know. (don't ask me I how know this)

Like many on the forum, I do most of my own work. (For some, this job may be too much....) Adding a Auto pilot was lots of work, but not reserved for a marine expert. Raymarine's manuals are well written. Work on larger boat projects often have project creep, for example not enough DC power...

Changing the boats name..... Use caution!! Study the traditions of name changing, special kind of woman is required. Seriously, welcome to a great resource.
