Blue sea ACR - beware stupid question ahead

I just received my new bluesea ACR to install between house and start batteries.
To uncover the connecting lugs you unlock the two yellow locks on each side.
However with cover on there is no passage for cables, am I supposed to cut the plastic cover to make the opening?
I know the question looks really really stupid, I just don't want to ruin it

Cables go down, I believe the cover is partly cut to bend out of the way.

At the bottom of the cover are pre-scored spots either on the side or bottom to make a space for the wire to come out. In this picture you can see that I removed the two bottom sections. You grab the appropriate spot with pliers and rotate and they break off.
