hi Clell Ray! I just got your message - sorry for slow reply since I see you sent it last month.
I do not know how the stanchions and railings are attached.

I do know that the holes to hold fishing rods in the cockpit were not potted with epoxy and the plywood core was left exposed to eventually rot. this winter I will pull both rod holders out and fill the space with epoxy before reinstalling the rod holders.

for this reason I am guessing the stanchions are not through bolted.

I imagine you can take down the ceiling liner to see underneath and look at the hull/deck joint. I know there are guys who have redone the hull/deck joint as the only way to stop a leak.

Hello Symphony, I also own a pilot 34 purchased a year ago. Finally got most everything the way I wanted. I need to rebed my railings, but I canít determine if they are through bolted or not. I canít find anyway to access from the underside. Mine are fastened on the side and top. Leads me to believe they are not through bolted. Do you have any knowledge or experience with this.

    Thanks
