I'm pretty sure I have an air intake leak on my split system, but have always had self contained in the past.
I have split system with 2 evaporators mounted in my flybridge for the main salon ac. I put an insect fogger in the flybridge to kill some ants with the salon ac running and the fog came out of the salon ac duct. I would think the system would be a closed system where the return is ducted to the evaporator and then sent through another duct to supply the cabin ac.
If it is ducted properly, I shouldn't see any of the insect fog coming out of the ac supply duct. Is this correct?
