Spent some time today troubleshooting an error code shown on the Balmar 614 for the port engine. Or at least I THOUGHT it was for the port engine.

Take a look at the photo of the engine room forward bulkhead where the units are mounted. In an engine room where the PO went to the trouble to label the Starboard side.... someone decided it would be a good idea to do this......!

So if I'm facing forward and can see the 'STARBOARD' label on the bulkhead, I know that to my left is the port engine. It would seem logical to me that the port engine Balmar 614 would also be to the left of the grouping.... but I guess I'm expecting too much. Sadly it looks to have been a professional installation.

There's 30 minutes of my life I'll never get back.... :banghead:

Sorry, can’t really tell what I’m looking at.

The unit on the left is for the STBD engine instead of what should intuitively be for the PORT engine..

I see two Balmar units. The one on the Left (in the image) is marked "STBD", while the one on the right (in the image) is marked "PORT". There is a large green sign with white lettering above all of that that reads "Starboard".

Did you mark the balmar's accordingly, AFTER you identified the issue, but BEFORE you took the picture?

OR.......did you simply not notice the labels on the devices themselves?

Otherwise, I'm not clear on what you're conveying....which might be part of the problem.

The big green sign might not have anything to do with the Balmars. From the marks on the tiles it looks like something else has been removed.
