What's an older genset worth?

I'm selling my 1981 Kohler 12.5 KW genny and have had several inquiries but I have no idea what it's worth. The hour meter reads 1172 if I remember.

At 30 years old it is probably wanted for parts, or as a dead drop in on an old boat.

If it runs well and has no problems, sand blast it & paint it, and change the oil and all filters. Then a fair price is 20% of a new one. If it's rusty / grundgy, doesn't run or you haven't run it, as is 10 cents a ton.

Thanks for the advise. Yes it runs great, has no problems but could use a paint job.
