What is the topside paint on a 2001 burgundy Main ship pilot 30?

I'm trying to find a matching topside touch-up paint for my 2001 burgundy Main ship pilot 30. Would anyone have information on what that might be?
Thanks,
Jerry

First thing to figure out is if it's paint or gelcoat.
You'll have better luck matching it if it's gelcoat but you'll need a good gelcoat guy to custom match it.
If it's paint it's way harder. Chances are it's LP, and even LPs fade over time, dark based colors are the worst includes reds like burgundy. So really hard to match. No one custom mixes LP, so you're stuck matching to a stock color and like I said they change.
If its paint and you want to take a stab at it I'd start with the Awlgrip color chart, it's the most commonly used paint.

I thought that I read somewhere that Mainship used one of the Awlgrip paints. But that isn’t for sure.

You're going to need to color match anyway. A 24 yr old burgundy will not match the factory color. The red spectrum is one of the least colorfast colors in the spectrum. Whether it's paint or gelcoat, you could have the factory color and brand in hand and it won't match. A good paint/fiberglass person should be able to color match it fairly well.

The hull paint from the factory on my 2005 30 Pilot II is Awlcraft CLARET. You can get an Awlcraft paint chart to check the match. Because of a poor repair by one of the two POs, my stbd bow needed to be repainted about one foot back from the cutwater in July 2019. I got the chart and put it up to the hull the check color, and the painter took a small amount out of the can of clarel Awlcraft I ordered to check against what was on the hull before getting down to work. No correction was needed to match the paint out of the can to the paint on the hull. The photos show how well Awlcraft can be matched and blended by a professional. We believe the boat was in a wet slip in Destin, FL for five years before the first ownership change which then saw it mostly idle in a boat barn here in Panama City for another five years. From 2015 until I had the paint repair done in 2019 it was kept in a covered boat lift, but the stbd side was daily exposed to direct sun until noonish and reflected sunlit thereafter daily. This paint is pretty stable IMO.

She's still a beauty Rich!

Yes she is, Bill. I like the darker coloring on a hull, and I once contemplated painting the wooden hull of my Grand Banks 42 a dark blue, but the sun heating of the hull here in FL would have created a disaster as the planks reacted to all that heat. This red hull heats up pretty well in the middle of the summer at anchor. The original 7KBtu air conditioner did well to keep temps at 82 in the middle of the morning. Luckily, it died, and the New 10K unit is quite a bit better.

I had my Flag Blue hull completely buffed, polished and Awlcare treated, when I was hauled out this winter for bottom paint, it’s like brand new! The sun here in So Cal is equally brutal on dark colored hulls, but fortunately we don’t have the ensuing heat you endure!

So well do I remember the fine SOCAL weather when I lived aboard my GB at a buoy mooring for three years in San Diego with no air conditioner installed in the boat.

yup, I can count on one hand how many times Alice used the AC when not in the slip! I can also give you lots of reasons not to like CA! 😎
