Many years ago (1977?)I had just started working for a boat yard in Seattle and one of my jobs was being the gofer.
They supplied prop shafts to Tolly down in Longview I guess it was. So my boss says, hey we need you to drive a bunch of shafts down to Tolly. Cool! All day road trip.
On the way I stopped off and grabbed my wife and some go food and off we went.
Got down there and unbeknownst to me there was a strike going on, I think the truckers.
So I had this Ford Pickup load of shafting and show up on this picket line and not knowing what to do, I just sat there and someone from inside came out and ushered me thru with the shafts and then we got the heck outa there.
Made me a little nervous, but there was no trouble. I was a little sore that my boss didnt tell me that was why I was going instead of the usual trucker.
