This is a generator with 350 hrs. It is diesel and runs very well. I removed it from the vessel to replace the back end (Generator portion). The generator portion had failed. In order to determine what was wrong with the generator portion I had to remove it from the vessel due to space limitations. I decided to buy a factory rebuilt from Hanson Marine in order to expedite the process. The unit also includes a Westerbeke sound enclosure. I had everything removed and decided I liked the space I had in the engine room and was going to investigate other options like solar and I small Honda portable when needed. This combination has worked well for us. So what I have for sale is a Westerbeke 5KW with low hours on the diesel and no hours on a factory rebuilt back end, and a Westerbeke sound enclosure. The old back end is still on the diesel and may not need much to repair and sell or it may need rewinding. In any case with box from the rebuilt Westerbeke will give back the core charge of $500.00. The unit still needs to be assembled, rebuilt back end to motor. I believe the unit new with enclosure is priced at $18,000.00. The rebuilt generator back end was around $4000.00. I am asking $9000 as is for quick sale. I will also consider selling diesel and backend separately. I can ship. The unit is located in Wilbraham Ma.
