Anyone out there ? I recently acquired a 58 Vantare and I know Chuck has one anyone else ? Of anyone know how many were built between 1988-2001 ? Looking mainly at the 58ft, 64ft and 72 as I think they are all pretty much the same style. But I have seen a 47, 48 and 53 each a completly different boat.

Saw one hanging around Campbell River last summer (2010) called Knot Accountable if you are looking online for them. Not sure what length, but looked similar to your avatar.

58 Vantare'

I'm sitting on one right now, docked in San Diego. My brother purchased it 14 yrs ago.

Hi,
I am looking at a 1987 53 pilothouse in St. Thomas. Do you like your Vantare (build quality, ride, etc.)?
They are asking $275,000. I think that is hight for a nearly 40 year old boat. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Gregg

Do a search for Vantare. It will bring up several helpful threads about the pro’s and cons of Vantare.

Quick recap, price point boat for interior finish, generally built in same yard as Ocean Alexander just not as nicely finished. Generally significantly cheaper than an OA. Generally less desirable than an OA.

I heard OA's used those cheesy grease-filled button connector splices like the telephone company used. That would be a deal breaker for me. ;)

Gregg FYI I was just giving Tiltrider a hard time about his choice of wire connections from another thread. I have no input regarding the build quality of Vantare. I looks like a nice boat. Good luck with yours!

Value is a hard thing to nail down. (For Shawn the OA is a no go because of a cheesy button Connector😜, but spending double for a different connector is a great value).

Vantare is usually carpeting and OA is Teak wood. For some that’s a no go, for others that’s money well saved.
