1995 GB 49MY. Doing major battery, alternator, inverter upgrade. There appears to be no DC bus bar for high amp DC loads. All negative cables seem to find their way to the port or starboard starters. Chasing wire runs, even with a good fox and hound is a challenge. So a few questions

1. One 4/0 cable from the stbd starter neg runs under the wiring panel that GB did (beautiful by the way). I assume this attaches to a neg connection behind the visible wiring. Is this true?

2. It appears that one 4/0 cable attaches the port and starboard starters negatives. Is this the GB standard?

I am putting a Lynx distributor in the battery box to join all house batteries. This will connect to a Lynx shunt then to Lynx Distributors for house leads, inverter, generator positives and other misc electronics. I am considering adding Lynx PowerIns at each starter to take the 4-6 leads off the starter post and just have one connection for the power in.

I would love to hear from others that have Sussex out this system with any recommendations. Thanks

This sounds a little different than mine. (1987)

Negative cables attach to our engine blocks, not the starters. But that may vary by engine type.

There is no negative bus, just tons of negative cable.

1. Each battery negative to its respective engine
2. Generator body to one main engine body
3. Engine bodies are linked
4. Each main engine battery negative to a singe stud on the fwd ER bulkhead.

The stud also collects a tie to the DC circuit negative bus as well as a lead to the windlass.

YMMV!
