Any recommendations for haulout, bottom, basic engine maintenance, and installing a stern thruster in Stuart, FL.? I have been in contact with River Forest Yacht Center, but they are unwilling to discuss costs of anything without my boat being there. That seemed very odd as I have never been told that at other marinas/yards and makes me leery.

Many years ago I had a great experience in the Hinckely yard in Stuart. They couldn't do enough for me, and prices were very reasonable. That was about 2015, so it could have changed. I hauled my sailboat, derigged, and loaded it on a truck to go cross country.

I had quite a bit of work done at Hinckley in Stuart, including bottom stripping / barrier coat / painting. They were wonderful to work with. I don't know what is reasonable any longer, but it wasn't inexpensive for sure.

Hi BroadCove, Unrelated to Stuart, I'm currently in contract for 2007 EB 47 FB up here in CT (closing later this month pending survey results) and performed survey, haulout & seatrial other day and she either needs bottom stripping / barrier coat / painting or manual sanding & painting. May I ask how much the full service cost you and if you consider just sanding & painting and the cost delta? Thanks for any insight you can shed.

I just had a short haul, pressure wash and bottom inspection at APEX marine which they accomplished with no issue. The yard is small but seemingly competent - I can't attest to more significant work. I ended up with Hinkley this past week when I had my 4 cutlass bearings changed out and was pleased with their work. Excellent communication, great staff and the yard seems well run. My service manager just became the general manager - happy to pass along her name if you want to reach out. Prices seemed high but but the work performed was great. One issue which when pointed out was addressed immediately to my satisfaction.

River Forest is super expensive

Apex. Dutch is great. They only have room for one boat out at a time though, so you have to get on their list.
