Starlink Mini on sale

The starlink mini is on sale for $299 until May 28th. I just pulled the trigger. Built in router. Easy mounting. I did also buy a step up dc to dc converter for power.

I bought a starlink mini and a power supply for my Jeep last month as we travel in areas with no cell service and want to be connected.

It's on the global roam unlimited plan for $165 a month.

On the boat I have a three year old whatever was current at the time starlink on the global priority subscription plan with 1tb a month.

Both plans offer in motion use and global data.

I came so close to doing the same. Luckily I did not. Maybe you could return it?

I started with a return on the website (haven't even opened the box yet) and it gave me some warning that I may not be able to re-subscribe so I chickened out.

I am not on a mini as they were not available when I made my purchase. If power consumption is important then for sure go with the mini. If you have a larger(over 55’) boat then you probably won’t want the router located in the antenna.

As I type this I am on Global Roam Unlimited, traveling at 10kts somewhere in Canada beyond cell service.

We have the Mini with the $50/month for 50GB plan. If we go over it’s a $1/GB. We have Verizon and AT&T cell plans that we use when we’re in cell range. We aren’t movie watchers and the plan works for us.

Have you been over to Bahamas with it yet?

No I haven’t but we have friends that went through the Bahamas, are now in Puerto Rico with the mini and same plan with no issues including the Dominican Republic. They said Starlink has replaced HF radio and there are cruising Starlink groups. Times are changing.

Elon Musk said they are working on a cell phone for next year that will work on starlink also.
