The Starlink web site is selling refurbished Starlink Mini Kits for $349 (in the US). Starlink and its authorized resellers, for new, are $499. Warranties are the same as new. From what I can tell, the refurbished Mini’s are only available through Starlink and not from authorized resellers. I wonder if it’s a short term offer?

Amazon will have satellite internet soon. How soon is the question.

Starlink appears to be selling their refurbished inventory and discounting the new inventory (eg: high performance model is marked down $1000) as new design antennas were announced a few days ago that will support gig speeds once additional satellites are launched. I'm sure Starlink is working hard to sign up as many customers as possible before the competition arrives from Amazon. I'm not clear who needs gig speeds, unless your boat is full of gamers! But the new designs appear to take advantage of additional spectrum and can carry more simultaneous connections.

I’m not finding the new antenna announcement. Link?

@Larry M I think the refurbished ones are returns made within time frame. I had a feeling they sold off refurbished before and held back new until old gone.
I have the GEN2 sold as RV roam and features were added after the Gen3 was offered. So I expect all will work, maybe newer just better.

Thanks. I got nothing when I searched for “new Starlink antenna” but the articles show up when I search for “new Starlink dish.” Picky, picky. Google search has gotten so bad.

On my boat, I would be very happy with 100Meg down load. I shake my head at Xfinity and others offing one gig speeds to customers.

We have the current generation flat high performance on our boat and consistently get better than 200 mbs down outside of peak streaming hours, including while underway. We’ve had three zoom calls going during the work day without a hitch. Speeds in the evening have radically improved as well. While I haven’t tested recently, a few weekends ago we and our guests streamed different 4k TV shows in our respective staterooms without a hitch while tied up near an urban area.

They have the refurbs from time to time as inventory allows. As too Amazon's constelation, they are looking at maybe later 2026 to get enough in orbit to provide some coverage. Starlink has over 7000 satellites in LEO, I think Amazon just launched first payload of 27. Amazon reports it will start limited service with 578 satellites. Get Starlink, you can always review the choice when another comes along.
