I am looking for anyone who has experience installing Starlink on a Swift 44. Having difficulty routing cables from flybridge to main salon!
Thanks

Don’t know that boat specifically, but generally there should be a vertical chase from the starboard side of the upper helm down to the lower helm. You should be able to route your cables through the chase.

FWIW, an electrical chase is a vertical “shute” where multiple cables are routed up and down.

Yeah, here's mine with the cover off.

Busy little place eh?

Assume it just aft of the lower helm door? How much work was it to get access. Looked to me like some carpentry work? Thanks

Nah, just forward of the door. No woodwork needed, just a long panel attached with screws, one piece. I needed to access it for the solar install. It is right along side the helm and you can even see the steering cables right in front.

Sorry to be a little off topic, but I have been meaning to ask for a while if anyone has tried the Hughes Jupiter system satellite service? They seem to be providers to a large percentage of commercial and cruise shipping, they are less expensive than Starlink, but the connection speeds they offer may not be quite as fast.
I don't know anyone who has it on their personal boat, but they have been in the market for a long time, and a viable alternative to Starlink should be interesting.

“but the connection speeds they offer may not be quite as fast.”

And the latency will be much worse due to their high satellites.

Just a thought...

When I tried Starlink, I put the router in a waterproof box, and just left it on the upper deck near the antenna. If you can power Starlink from an outside AC plug (ideally one that can be backed up on an inverter) - you don't need to bring cables into the salon. The router box has wifi built in, and it was plenty for my boat (and one or two boat neighbors from time to time...).
