Any recommendations for a washer repair person near Sarasota? Washer will not start as door latch will not activate. Likely the control board per Splendide support as signal to latch is not being sent.

Hello Tom... its been awhile since we crossed wakes.
Check with a local RV / Motorhome Resort. They should have recommendations for mobile service techs. Ive used one several yrs ago to work on our MH washer, down in the Port Charlotte area and was very pleased.
Our was not Splendide but those are rather common in motorhomes and actually what they recommended if a replacement was needed.

I new board isn't cheap, but there are people that repair boards online.

Before you go to the trouble of trying to repair, make sure you have clean power to the outlet where the unit is plugged in. The Splendid units are incredibly sensitive to a dirty sine wave. Mine was pausing itself and refusing to lock when plugged in to its dedicated outlet but would work off an extension cord to a different circuit. Ultimately traced it down to noise from a loose neutral wire.

Thanks for the tip. The trick is getting the darn thing out to inspect it!

Yes, it has been a while! And yes, they all have recommendations but getting one of them to call back is the trick! Thanks Don.

You may have already tried this, but washers nowadays are touchy about the doorlatch closed sensor. I fixed more than one by jiggling sensor around with screwdriver. And one i fixed by slamming door in frustration. Every so often it needed a slammer.

I had a bunch of problems with the door connecting properly. Splendide referred a guy who came to the boat once. He thought it was the control board. Couldn't find the correct board so I put back together and low and behold the damn thing worked. Next load it didn't.

I found the door was twitchy. I installed a new handle locking mechanism which helped a lot, but it still took several tries to get the door to latch properly and startup.

Good luck
