What engine? American Diesel has updated replacements for Ford Lehman.

I agree with buying from Brian , but $414 vs one i just bought new on ebay for $75, sometimes you gotta make choices

Yes, you can pay less but then it might not last as long.
American Diesel (The Lehman Ford Experts).
Break downs are even more expensive.
Your choice.

The only way I would buy the $75 ebay reproduction starter is if I did not know that the engine (which in this instance has been submerged) will actually start.
The starter would become a spare, replaced by the OEM part should the engine survive the previous abuse.

If it`s not a Lehman marinizing part Ford tractor or aftermarket suppliers are sources. A bit like the difference in cost of buying Onan engine parts from Onan or Kubota. Onan heat exchanger was savage but unavoidable.

Starter arrived stamped Lucas m127. May be a moot point if the damn thing tries to sink again. Did you read how it happened ?
