Ive had solar panels for a couple years, but Ive put off hooking them up due to the prep needed. I am replacing my two monitors with a Garmin chartplotter and another monitor running timezero. Before I could do any of this I needed to remove all the coaxial cables used for tv, satellite, cameras, tv, etc. The cables run all through the boat, so I am removing the cables as I come across them. This has been a nightmare as you can see and I cant imagine the expense that went into this installation. I will need to run a gps cable, solar wiring to mppt controllers, two new transducer cables, and new cables from a tower computer to the monitor. Below is two separate piles of cables. I expect two or three equal piles when I get to the main level below the pilot house. Pretty sure this will raise the water line a couple inches.

Wow....that was an extensive and complicated installation. You ahve to really like A/V to go through all that.

I'm sure it will be very satisfying ot simplify and neaten up those cabling areas.

Don't forget to attach and pull through " pull strings" through the hard to reach spots to aid in future reinstall of new wires/cables as you remove the old stuff.

Yes sir with the pull strings. The mast channel already had one but there was no room to run more cables. If there was, I would have just left the cables, which I will still do, if I can.

That's an impressive amount of wire!

How much of it was orphan wire (no longer used). My boat was only 12 when I did the refit and I pulled probably 20% that had already been orphaned.

All of the cables went to the amplifiers in the pilot house and then split to either the helm, or to the three staterooms and saloon. What you’re seeing piled up in the cockpit is maybe 30% of the total. The wifi satellite and phone satellite cables were the only ones not being used. Four hard mounted cameras are the majority of the cables-also running to a monitor in the owner cabin. There is no doubt I probably cut a cable I need. I had 40-50 cables stuffed into the chase and I had no ability to trace them.

Pile three from the lower level. Still have the salon level and stateroom monitor to go. I did cut a Airmar transducer cable. I got lucky as it was a transducer that was not working.
