SIMRAD FLUXGATE compass

My FLUXGATE compass didn’t like it’s salt water bath. It’s old.. wondering if other FLUXGATE models would work, it has two wires only, in my limited understanding of all this shouldn’t any device that gives the unit a heading work?

Do you have the AP model number, and fluxgate model? That would help. Unless it's really old, it's probably a NMEA output and likely replaceable by a modern rate compass. However your "two wire" comment suggests it's some sort of proprietary interface, which would not bode well for easy replacement.

Just keep in mind that the RC25 will likely perform noticeable better.
