rudder packing size on Mark 1

so I am ordering packing for my drive shaft and at the same time order packing for my rudder. anyone know the size used?

If you are at the boat you can loosen the nut and see what size drill bit will slide in along side of the shaft.

I ran out of time to work on it this weekend so i was hoping someone would chime in from experience on a late 70s mark one .
i was hoping it 1/4" like the main shaft.

My 1978 had the same size for both the rudder post and prop shaft.
BUT, they were both 1 1/2 inch diameter shafts.

The 1979 boats had a 1 3/8 diameter prop shaft, not sure about the rudder post size.
