Looking to add an A/C to an American Tug. Just trying to get a ball park figure on pricing. It does not have A/C right now, just forced air diesel heat. I was thinking having two zones would be beneficial as most of the time the forward stateroom wouldn't be needed. Has anyone had A/C installed give me a ball park figure on cost for a system install for pricing?

Here is a situation where it sure would be nice to have someone offer small split AC systems for boats. One of the main costs will be running the ductwork, which American Tug does before the deck goes on. All the split systems I am aware of use an air cooled condenser. On my sailboat, I have a split system that used to be offered by the Glacier Bay refrigerator people, now defunct. It is small capacity (limited by the compressor running on DC) but works well.
