My Seafire extinguisher is 18 years old and due for a service which if it fails, and I suspect it will, will require replacement with a larger bottle which is a show stopper for me. Because of that I’m contemplating retrofitting a Stat-X thermal/manual system due to its compact size and extinguishing efficiency. The tech tells me if I use the existing bottle position I can use the existing manual cable which keeps the switch over costs down.

Has anyone had experience with this system? The OEM is saying they have a 15 year shelf life.
