When we bought our KK last year it had one of these dual pump high flow systems.
At first i thought it was some mad science project but it is actually sold as a unit from Pentair. While i had some time i went down in the bilge and tried to figure out how it all is plumbed and realized one of the pumps actually wasn't working. I confirmed by disconnecting the power from the operative pump and got nothing. So I ordered a replacement and then plan on overhauling the old pump if able to keep as a working spare.
Now to the question. Since replacing the broken pump we are getting a stuttering of the pumps as they reach their pressures after the water is shutoff or if running low flow. The specs from Pentair show they have different pressure sensors:
Primary pump: Shut-Off 55 PSI [3.8 Bar]± 2 PSI [0.13 Bar] Re-start 40 PSI [2.8 Bar] ± 2 PSI [0.13 Bar] Maximum By-Pass 65 PSI [4.5 Bar] ± 2 PSI [0.13 Bar]
Secondary pump: Shut-Off 45 PSI[3.1 Bar] ± 2 PSI [0.13 Bar] Re-start 30 PSI [2 Bar]
Add into this we have an accumulator. I've set the pressure of that tank to 25lbs.
Anyone running this pump system have any recommendations on how to best manage everything? The way the two pumps fight each other reaching their pressures makes me think that's what broke the previous pump. I'm tempted to just replace with a single pump system. Or valve off one of the pumps and then just open the valve if i needed the spare. Water pressure is fine on one. Just seems like added complexity for no reason.
