hi,

we have a 2003 pilot 34. in the area behind the helm seats are the settees. on our boat the backs of the settees are free standing or should i say falling. i have tried to secure them with velcro, alien tape, etc but nothing seems to stick. does anyone else have the problem? solve it? did mainship ever have a solution?

thanks,

john

I assume you are referring to the bench seats on the bridge deck and not the settee in the lower cabin. On my 30 Pilot, the back rests are supplied with aluminum clips fasted to the backside (plywood I assume) of the cushion which mate with corresponding clips screwed into the cabin side,

My 2001 34 did not have the backrest cushions when I purchased it. I had the cushions custom made. They are attached using the same type of track that hangs the smaller cushions that cover the opening to the storage under the helm and companion seats. The first pic shows the track temporarily held in place with blue painters tape just before being screwed to the fiberglass. This system requires the cushion to have a length of cylindrical material, matching the size of the track slot, to be sewn to the back of the cushion.

My 07 P34 has 4 snap studs in the side panel and snaps on the back of the cushions. Works pretty well.

It is keder strips that you are referring to.
