I also have a new to me Nova 36 Sundeck (Fu Hwa). Having lots of fun learing about the systems, motors and trawlers in general. Have been a sailor and just recently came to the dark side

Here are some pictures.* As you can see we have some blisters on the bottom.* They have not changed in the last 3 years so we are not worrying about them. Twin Volvo TMD41As with 1400 hours.* Runs goord, but i am slowly going through and repairig stuff.* Did the shaft logs, genset raw water pump, HE anodes, prop shaft couplings, Bilge pump wireing,* Electric davit wireing.* The next big chalenge is to remove the Heat Exchangers, oilcoolers, raw water pumps and reseal / rebuild everythhing

Is that a very compact galley tucked under your lower Helm on the Starbord Side? *It looks like your dinette is to port there.

You are correct. There is a small galley down on starbord and the dinnette on port. The galley is fine except we need to use the dineete table for counter space when prepairing anything elaborate. Good use of space though. Other trawler owners come aboard and think she must be a 40, but she is just a 36. Search on Yacht world for Nova 36 sundeck and there will be a few that come up and have good pictures of the layout.

We have the same hull papered as a Golden Star. I'm envious of the rear cockpit. Couldn't find one with that under 50' when we were looking.

Similar to our new-to-us LaBelle 44! We also felt lucky about finding a cockpit model. LOA swim grid to bow pulpit is 47’8”. After a shakedown cruise and tight quarter docking in strong wind and current, it is on the hard having a bow thruster added.

Nice, I'd love to come across a cockpit model in my search. Curious how much the bow thruster install will cost.

Thruster on LaBelle 44

Thruster supply and install including shipwright will be about CAD$22K. Installing a 24V 6kW Lewmar, in a storage area under the VIP berth. System includes an inverter to pull from the 12V house bank.

Before I bought my boat I looked at a 44 Nova Sundeck. The engine room had practically stand up Headroom. I wish I had bought that boat
