Need to do oil samples on Sunday and I am looking for an outfit where I can get it done in the Seattle area. Anyone have a recommendation on a shop that I can walk into and pick up sample kits on Friday?

Fisheries has them, just know that Chevron can take 2 weeks or more to process. Another place is Covich Williams. They may be able to help get them done quicker.

Thanks for the tips, I'll check with both.

Okay after some checking Fisheries Supply(Seattle) and Covich and Williams(Seattle) both use the Chevon lab out of Portland. OR. Once it makes it through the mail to the lab they say they can turn it around in 48hrs and an exception is a week. We'll see soon enough...

Mine took like 2 weeks or more...I called down and got a snippy reply that they were busy, but then got the results.

The guy at Covich and Williams did mention calling in to check on progress. I'll plan on that.

Just curious, but I wonder how the local experience compares to Blackstone Labs. Anybody have experience with both?

Do you have Caterpillar SOS labs nearby, not next door but nearby.

My experience of about 4o years both on my boat and at work is mail the tests to the lab and provide your Email address and the report will show up in about 10 days

I've used Oil Analysis Lab in Spokane that provided a quick turn around. You would need to call them about turn around time and if you can provide your own bottles.

Call NC Machinery in Tukwila 425-251-5800. If you personally deliver the sample they may be able to do a quick turn around.
