Hello future friends!
Kathleen and I have been noodling a trawler purchase for the past two years and have gone from a Ranger obsession to a Nordic/American obsession and have finally come down to earth with funding and available time to settle ( for now ) on a Camano 31. I am in awe of this resource and look forward to a new life adventure with a future vessel and having this group in our back pocket. Cheers and thanks in advance for the years of dedicated mariners who helped build this!

Welcome aboard as well! Lots of good info and good people here. With the Camano 31 are you looking at new or used? Good looking boats, and appear to be well made. Regardless of what you end up buying, the important part is to just get out and USE IT!

Welcome! I have a Nordic Tug and my friend, several slips down the dock in our marina, just sold his Camano Troll 31. For quite some time we took turns cruising up and down the inland waterway. Both are great trawlers. You're on the right track!

The Camano would be high on my list if I was boat shopping in that size range. Where do you plan to cruise?

Want a smoking hot, almost too good to believe deal, Contact Neal (owner/manager?) of West Bay Marina in Olympia, WA. Just before we left in October, a couple we saw cruising in a 31/32 ft Camano (nice boat) came into our Marina and sold it to Neal for an insanely low price. I don't know if someone was divorcing, dying or simply lost their minds, but he had to say yes, it was barely 5 figures, just barely. Neal already has a nice sail boat and isn't even into Troller/Trawlers. But I bet he would flip it. You might even get a slip if you want one that far south in Puget Sound.
It was just too good to be true, but some people get lucky like that. If you do contact him and end up getting a SCREAMING deal on this, PM me and let me know, por favor.

We completed the survey and trial yesterday on this new to us 31. I love your comment about using it and we intend to do just that!

Hi and my goodness, wish I had know this earlier. We are committed to the 2007 and thankful to have found it. This has the D4 Volvo and many other upgrades including led lights throughout, genset, new upholstery and refinished floors throughout. I believe we paid near the top of the price range but she presents like a new boat practically. Cheers!

Hello Salish! Kath and I are somewhat new to this size so we will begin with short Puget Sound trips and eventuallly graduate to the San Juans and the Salish Sea. We have a lot to learn about our new pride so easy does it and looking forward to new destinations and adventures!

Welcome to the group,

It sounds like the Camano fits you well. Here in Alaska we see plenty of fairly new Rangers for sale. Don't know why, but might be an indication that they may have problems, or just aren't suited to the owners needs?

I looked at a few Camanos in the PNW, but wanted a Nordic Tug. Fortunately, I found a great 35' Rosborough in Alaska for the price (or less) of a Nordic 32. It does not have a "sofa", but it is a much better fishing platform with a large partially covered cockpit.

I would have contacted you earlier, but have decided to keep the boat for another year or two for exploring Kodiak, Prince Wm Sound and the Inside Passage.

Good luck with your new boat.

Doug
